Beginnings

The 10th production of the Global Science Opera is inspired and informed by data and images from the James Webb Telescope. In 2024 the GSO-community will collaborate and co-create Beginnings. Be inspired and let your imagination wander:

WEBB is a telescope.
WEBB is an idea of what people can accomplish when we work together.

The concept of beginnings runs through the opera as a conceptual leitmotiv through which we explore time and light in space. We will explore the beginnings of the universe through light which WEBB is making visible to humanity, and which originates from some of the oldest galaxies to take form. We will explore how collaborative endeavors lift humanity to new global, co-creative beginnings of actively shaping our common future.

You can see the online premiere of Beginnings here.

The Global Science Opera’s vision is to produce annual productions during which a global community will explore interwoven science, art and technology within a creative and democratic inquiry process. As part of my job at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, I am the production manager for the Global Science Opera.
